St. Peter's Discovery Club

Discovery Club is the School-Age childcare program at St. Peter's School. By providing a comfortable and relaxing environment Discovery Club children have an opportunity to socialize and enjoy their after school time hours in a constructive and safe way. Discovery Club is also open on Non-School days, i.e., Christmas vacation, Spring break.

Who can attend Discovery Club?

Discovery Club is open to any child currently attending St. Peter's Catholic Elementary School in grades Kindergarten-6th grade. Discovery Club welcomes all children regardless of race, creeds and religions.

What are the operating hours of Discovery Club?

Before school hours: 6:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.

After school hours: 2:10 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Non School Day hours: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

How much is the cost to attend Discovery Club?

Cost varies. Contact Child Care Coordinator 651-982-2209, or school office 651-982-2215 for current rates.

Who will be teaching and working with my child?

The teachers and staff selected to work with your children are committed to our Christian philosophy. Positive methods of discipline are used which are consistent with St. Peter's belief in teaching positive self-concepts. Each child is welcomed as an individual and the staff will attempt to meet his/her special needs.

What is a typical daily schedule?

After school actives would include, snack break, art/special project time, time to work on homework and large motor activities outside or in school gym. Discovery Club students may also participate in other after school activites, i.e. Girl Scouts, Chess Club, Ski Club.

St. Peter's Discovery Childcare

Discovery Childcare is a licensed childcare facility at St. Peter's School. Any child between the ages of 3 and 5 are eligible to participate in this program. We believe that each child needs to belong, to achieve, to reverence, to discover, to love and to be loved. We believe in helping these young children to grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, mentally, and physically. The primary goal of Discovery Childcare is to foster positive development. This goal is achieved by working in tandem with the Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten education staff. For that that child that attends Discovery Childcare, what a plus to go to "school" in the morning and come to Discovery Childcare, and in the afternoon continue learning. Through a creative and stimulating environment these children are able to discover their world, and be creative in a safe atmosphere.

The cost to attend Discovery Childcare varies. To attend 5-day childcare, cost is $145.00 per week. There is an additional cost for your child to attend one of St. Peter's Early Childhood Education Classes. Contact Childcare Coordinator of current tuition/fees.
